What we look at.

Supplier comparison brief

Ask about documenting multiple received samples against the same buyer-defined criteria. Handling and availability must be confirmed.

Reference-to-sample comparison

Supply the approved reference or a clear record of it. Agree which observable details should be compared.

Revision recheck

Identify the specific earlier finding and the corrective change you want checked. Each recheck needs an agreed scope.

Decision-ready differences

Discuss a comparison format that separates measured or observed differences from subjective preferences.

What you get from the check.

A proposed comparison plan that answers the question you are actually trying to decide—without confusing a received sample with a whole supplier.

Prepare a useful brief.

  • An identifier for each sample and the supplier or revision it represents.
  • The same specification and acceptance criteria for each sample.
  • Any earlier report, approved reference or marked-up correction request.
  • Number, size and arrival dates of samples before requesting a quote.
The scope matters. A comparison does not establish supplier capability, prove material composition or represent statistically valid random sampling of a production lot. This custom scope must be accepted before payment or shipping.
